Today the grade eight classes took part in a Skills Canada presentation aimed at promoting the skilled trades and technologies. The presentation highlighted career opportunities and resources for youth to find and develop their passion for skilled trades and technologies. The presentation is in preparation for the grade eight visit to Finding Your Pathway forum held at the EY Centre onOctober 28th
. The forum offers an opportunity for students to speak directly with community partners and students involved in specialized high school programs in pathways such as apprenticeship, college, university and workplace. Students will be further preparing for the visit by creating a profile in a program called myblueprint.ca
. The program engages students in the process of goal setting, reflecting on career related activities and planning their future.
