Post-Secondary Application Key Dates
January 15, 2025 - Deadline to submit your completed application to OUAC - Ontario Universities' Application Centre (Visit their website for the latest and most accurate information.)
February 1, 2025 - Deadline to submit your completed application to OCAS - Ontario College Application Service. (Visit their website for the latest and most accurate information.)
Important Notice: In order to attend the 2025 graduation ceremony, students must have the 40 hours of community service completed by: May 9th, 2025.

Algonquin College Fall Open House: November 9, 2024 from 9:00 to 4:00 PM. Visit this link for more information and to register.
College Information Program: October 21, 2024, from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. At Algonquin College in the Student Commons. More than 20 Ontario colleges will be in attendance.
The Ontario Universities Regional Fair
Regional Fairs travel across Ontario in the fall. During these events, university representatives connect directly with hundreds of students and their supporters. Events are held at local high schools, universities, and community venues. Each event is typically 1-3 hours long, and each university has an exhibit table staffed by 1-2 university representatives.
Regional Fairs:
September 23rd, 6:00 - 8:00 pm - Nepean Sportsplex Halls A and B
September 24th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm - Bell Sensplex, Kanata
September 26th, 6:00 - 8:00 PM - Shenkman Arts Centre, Orleans
We encourage students to register for the event by signing up for an OUEvents Pass. This way, they can share their information with the universities they are interested in and keep the conversation going after the event.

School Letter
The school letter is awarded to graduates who have made outstanding contributions to our school community during their high school years and who model our school motto “Love & Dignity”. We strongly encourage students to submit the record of activities, (the application) at the end of each year. The activities need to be signed by teachers. If you wait until the end of grade 12 you may have difficulties tracking down teachers from a few years ago.

Application to an Ontario university is done through the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC).

Deadlines are important - OUAC online applications for equal consideration will be due January 15, 2025.
APPLY TO AN UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
For applicants currently attending an Ontario high school
Important dates for (OUAC) university applications:
Registration - Now open
January 15, 2025 - The deadline for current Ontario high school students to submit their completed applications to the OUAC.
May 29, 2025 - The latest date all high school applicants can expect a response from an Ontario university. This includes an offer of admission, a refusal; or a deferral, once additional information is received
June 3, 2025 - The earliest date an Ontario high school student may be required to respond to an Ontario university offer of admission and give a financial commitment.
Applying to an Ontario College
Applying to college is done on-line through the Ontario College Application System (OCAS). View the following link for specific information on how to apply to an Ontario college.
Review the online application tutorials and important dates.
Ontario Colleges start receiving application data (marks) mid-November.
Create your username and password when first logging in. Keep the username and password in a safe place, as you will need it when you return to your application to make changes or check the status of your application.
Write down your OCAS application number. You will need this number if you contact OCAS or the colleges for information.
Important dates for College applications:
October 2024 - Application service open
November 1, 2024 - Earliest offer date. Offers will continue to be issued until programs are filled or waitlists are established.
February 1, 2025 - Equal Consideration Date. First application deadline.
May 1, 2025 - Deadline to confirm offers of acceptance.
June 1, 2025 - Payment of tuition deposit is due. Each college sets its own tuition deposit amount and payment deadline
Post-secondary outside Ottawa
Workplace Transition Information
Working in Canada is a new government website loaded with valuable information.
A great starting point is to click on List of Occupations, browse the many occupations, click on one and scroll through the pages to read about wages, job descriptions, employment trends, etc.
Employment Projection Use the drop down menu for NOC Title to select a job, click on Employment in the Available Components box. You can look at the numbers or convert it to a graph to look at employment trends for various occupations.
